Research and development of a new process for the revaluation of fishing nets for the manufacture of kayaks by rotomoulding.
IDI-20201092
Duration: 19 months (20/04/2020 – 31/10/2020)
At present, 6% of all nets, 9% of all traps and 29% of all fishing lines used by fishermen around the world are lost or discarded in our oceans every year, which means 640,000 tonnes of waste that takes between 500 and 600 years to degrade, making it one of the main environmental problems of our times.
To put an end to this problem and to promote the recovery and revaluation of fishing nets, ROTOGAL proposes this R&D project which aims to design a new process for the recycling of disused fishing nets with which to obtain polyamide (mainly nylon) and polypropylene pellets with which to obtain plastic parts by rotomoulding, allowing the development of a new line of products obtained from recycled plastics to achieve sustainable and environmentally friendly products.
Presentation of the third annual results of the FILL KIT 2020 project – Conecta Peme Programme 2018 – IN852A 2018/6
The FILL KIT 2020 project, supported by the Conecta Peme 2018 programme of the Galician Innovation Agency, will develop an integrated, exportable and cost-optimised construction solution aimed at the housing market. IN852A 2018/6
The objectives of the project are to obtain moulds and advanced rotomoulding techniques that allow the manufacture of fillable insulating panels (PE/insulation/PE/hollow/PE). The result is the Know How, moulds and first tested samples of modular polyethylene components by rotomoulding FILLKIT.
This project is subsidised by the Galician Innovation Agency, GAIN, and has been supported by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Employment and Industry of the Xunta de Galicia.
